Rosan Perkasa Roeslani, the former owner of now defunct Bloomberg TV Indonesia, has been elected chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), defeating former trade minister Rachmat Gobel on Tuesday night in Bandung.
Rosan, 47, who is also co-founder of Recapital Group and former president director of PT Berau Coal Energy, gained 102 votes out of a total 129 ballots, the former trade minister receiving the other 27.
The former deputy head of Kadin's banking and financial sector will run the industry organization from 2015 to 2020.
Rosan established the economic and business focused Bloomberg TV Indonesia, which was operated under holding company PT Idea Karya Indonesia in 2013, and officially closed two years later due to financial concerns. (dan)(+)
