ctress Chelsea Islan has expressed her hopes that the government and cinema owners will be more supportive of Indonesian films.
'Indonesian films need more support, such as a longer time allocations and more screenings in large cinemas compared to those of foreign films,' Chelsea was quoted by tribunnews.com as saying.
The actress, who has played in films such as Street Society and Di Balik 98 (Behind 98), also encouraged society to support Indonesian films.
'Support from all elements of society is crucial if we want to develop the Indonesian film industry,' she said.
On a personal level, she said she would remain serious in her commitment to develop herself as an actress as part of her contribution to the Indonesian film industry.
