ollowing complaints from residents and business owners in Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK), North Jakarta, over the poor quality of water, the estate's management, PT Multi Artha Pratama, has vowed to start operating a new raw water source for the residents of Bukit Golf Mediterania (BGM) in December.
'We are making a full commitment to provide clean water for all BGM-PIK residents. We apologize for the inconvenience related to the clean water problem,' said the director of the residential estate, Restu Mahesa, in a press release on Wednesday.
Restu promised that beginning in January 2016, all BGM-PIK residents would have access to clean water.
He added that since Nov. 9 BGM had been providing clean water delivered by trucks free of charge, in order to fulfill the needs of business owners and residents in the area.
Restu denied the rumors recently circulating in social media that a majority of BGM-PIK residents are suffering from diarrhea. 'The physical and chemical test results have shown that there are no traces of metal and bacteria that can cause diarrhea in the water,' he said.
