On eyeing AEC, Indonesia is still far from being ready to enter the single market. We have no alternatives, but take any opportunities for the sake of our country. I don't know when we will be ready, but I am sure it will not be in the era of Pak Jokowi.
I really hope that despite the pessimism, Indonesia will take advantage of any opportunities offered by other ASEAN member countries to contribute something good for the nation.

By entering the AEC Indonesia will be pushing ourselves to work harder and look for a better future.
Working smarter, we can start developing our cities by managing our daily trash to keep them clean.
The government should also speed up the development of infrastructure, especially in remote areas, to allow the people and business players to more easily access the single market and make our products more competitive.
Let us improve ourselves by exporting milk, instead of continuing importing it.
We have the land to raise the cows, the organic fertilizer to grow the feed, the cowboys to care for the cows and the experience to produce the milk.
With a properly developed organic fertilizer and irrigation system, the production of rice, sugar and all other products including kitchen ingredients should be easily exportable in no time at all.
These demands and requirements of the AEC are indeed an economic push for our nation.
With President Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo at the reins of the Government, there will be an even higher chance of success.
Together, let's work without wavering.

Fragmented cabinet?
President Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo has again asked his Cabinet members to avoid making contradictory public statements, which he says only encourages dispute. However, Coordinating Maritime Affairs Minister Rizal Ramli has rejected his instruction, saying that instigating conflict in the Cabinet is necessary to drive out 'rats' from their hiding places.
