iding on an aggressive 90 runs by Naresh Gupta and his match-winning century partnership with Pratyush Chaturvedi, GMIS went on to beat the Jakarta Barbarians by four wickets on Sunday at the GMIS grounds, in the TATA Motors JCA League Division 1 encounter.

Being asked to bat first, the Barbarians scored 216/5 in their 35 overs. Ben Burgess remained unbeaten on 103 runs while Jared Seiffert chipped in with 51 runs.

Manish Semwal took four wickets. In response, GMIS made short work of the target, winning the game in only 30 overs losing six wickets, thanks largely to the 113-runs partnership between Naresh Gupta, who scored his fourth half-century of the season, and Pratyush (43 runs), which also included an over that saw Naresh plunder 26 runs.

Earlier on Saturday at Cibubur, TKCC defeated Menara CC by four wickets in another division 1 fixture. Winning the toss, TKCC invited Menara to take first strike.

Starting cautiously through its openers Deepak Khullar (34 runs) and Taimur Khan, Menara was comfortably placed at 138/4 after 24 overs.

Despite a fine 44 runs by its No. 3 batsman Rahul and 23 runs by Prakash Kewlani, a combination of spin and swing bowling by TKCC saw Menara lose its last six wickets for very little to be all out for 178 runs.

Rakshan finished with an impressive 3/19 off five overs, supported by Maneesh Tripathi (2/47) and Mukesh Khetan (2/27).

In response, despite losing two early wickets, TKCC, lead by its captain Swaroop Chavan (48 not out) and Rakshan'€™s 35 runs, finished the game in the 29th over, losing six wickets.

Swaroop'€™s 54-run partnership with Rakesh AS (20 runs) ensured TKCC maintained its winning formula of inserting the opposition in and chasing down the target.

In a Division 2 encounter at Purwakarta on Sunday, Metro Indians triumphed over hosts Indorama by nine runs in a high scoring game.

Opting to bat first on a wet wicket, Metro got off to a fine start lead by its opening batsman and inform batsman Kirubu Shankar reaching 78/0 in 12 overs.

His innings of 93 runs (off just 74 balls) and an innings of 31 runs by Arun Pandi helped Metro reach 242/6.

Sakthi chipped in with 29 runs. For Indorama Vinod Verghese did well with the ball taking 2/18, supported by Vishwajit Tripathi (2/45).

Chasing 243 runs to win, Indorama began well with an aggressive opening partnership, led by Arjun Chauhan and Vinod Verghese, which saw them reach 95/0 in 12 overs.

With Indorama staying in the hunt, it took a fine comeback by Metro in the form of taking crucial wickets of Arjun (55 runs) and Nitin Joshi (44 runs) and an impressive 32nd over bowled by its skipper Prabhu Kaliraj, that saw Indorama being contained to 233/9 in its full quota of 35 overs, thereby falling short of the target by nine runs.

Kiruba Shankar was declared the man of the match for his fine show with the bat and ball (3/37).

In the game between division 2 leaders Jaguars CC and Mavecrics at Cibubur, the Jaguars continued their winning streak when they won by 44 runs, in a fixture that was reduced to 32 overs a side because of a rain interruption.

Batting first, led by their run machine Dhimanshu Raghuwanshi who scored a fine century (122 runs off just 68 balls), the Jaguars put up a match-winning total of 294/7. Shivanad and Sasikumar chipped in with 39 runs and 36 runs respectively. Keyur Moradia took 3/52 while Mayank supported with 2/36.

The Mavecrics went after the target earnestly with all their top-order batsmen coming out well, but the score of 294 was just beyond their reach as they finished on 250/8.

Openers Vishav Sharma (42 runs) and Rakesh Sharma (39 runs) gave a good start, while Miraz Monga (48 runs) and Mayank (61 runs) kept them interested before the asking rate became too much to conquer. Jagdeep Singh (3/52) and Sasikumar (2/25) did well with the ball.
