ity-owned bus operator PT Transportasi Jakarta (Transjakarta) is set to launch a new feeder service to cater to KRL electric train commuters traveling to and from Tebet and Tanah Abang train stations in South Jakarta and Central Jakarta respectively.
Transjakarta president director ANS Kosasih said that Transjakarta and Kopaja had procured 300 new medium-sized buses, some of which would be mobilized for the new feeder service. Kosasih said that the two train stations were chosen because Transjakarta did not have services near the areas.
He went on to say that the firm and the transportation agency were currently drafting a new gubernatorial regulation, which would be the legal basis for the operation of the new feeder route, and would ensure that the service would begin operating by the end of the year.
Separately, KRL operator PT Kereta Commuter Jabodetabek (KCJ) president director Muhammad Fadhila said that the new service would greatly help passengers.
'With this new step, public transportation integration could be realized,' Fadhila said as quoted by Antara news agency.
