ndonesia finished second at the ASEAN Para Games 2015 in Singapore on Wednesday with 81 gold medals, 74 silver and 63 bronze.
Even with such a collection in the medal tally, Indonesia failed to retain the top spot because of Thailand, which bagged 95 gold, 76 silver and 79 bronze. Malaysia finished third with 52 gold, 58 silver and 37 bronze.
The Indonesian Youth and Sports Ministry's deputy for sports development, Djoko Pekik Irianto, admitted that Indonesia failed to retain the position of overall victor that it won in the 2013 ASEAN Para Games in Naypyidaw, Myanmar.
'Our athletes had done their best and we need to appreciate it. We also appreciate the support that came from home.
'For evaluation, we will look at the technical side, such as on the requirements to qualify [for the upcoming Para Games],' Djoko said in a release.
The Indonesian athletes who won the most medals in Singapore's Para Games were Musa Caru Baba (swimming) with four gold and one silver, Setiyo Budi Hartanto (track and field) with four gold, Jendi Panggabean (swimming) with three gold, two silver and one bronze, Agus Ngaimin (swimming) with three gold and two silver and Martin Losu (track and field) with three gold and one silver.
