iau-based pop rock band Geisha has expended its musical portfolio into soundtrack composing. The five-head band created two songs for Single, the new film of comedian Raditya Dika.
'We were confused at first, because the producer requested serious, mellow songs instead of fun, upbeat songs for a comedy,' said drummer Aan as reported by kapanlagi.com on Monday.
Vocalist Momo said the group was proud to be chosen by producer Sunil Soraya. 'It's a great opportunity to be involved in the film. It's very challenging, especially because the producer was meticulous about the soundtracks,' she said.
The songs, titled 'Sementara Sendiri' ('Alone for Now') and 'Lagu Cinta' ('Love Song') were written by guitarist Roby Satria, who currently faces an investigation related to drugs abuse.
Single, written and co-directed by Raditya Dika, tells the story of Ebi, who finds it hard to talk to girls and therefore has never had a relationship, until he meets girl-next-door Angel. The film is to be released on Dec. 17.
