An Indonesian national has been charged with possessing materials relating to the Islamic State terror group at the magistrate's court in Pontian, Malaysia.
Ihsan, 31, appeared calm before Magistrate Azlan Bohari where he only nodded his head after the charge was read out to him Tuesday.
He allegedly owned a mobile phone that contained 196 images and 200 videos of the group's terror activities.
The accused was alleged to have committed the offence at Kampung Parit Abdul Rahman near Benut in Pontian on Dec 1 at around 12.05pm.
Ihsan faces a maximum jail sentence of seven years or a fine or having his items seize upon conviction under Section 130JB (1) (a) of the Penal Code.
No plea was recorded while no bail was offered to the accused.
Azlan set Jan 28 for the next mention of the case.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Suhaili Sapun prosecuted while Ishan was not represented. (kes)(+)
