itra Award winner Tara Basro has been appointed as the nation's ambassador to the 11th Indonesian Film Festival (IFF) in Australia.
She will fly to Melbourne with a mission to promote the Indonesian film industry.
'I will promote my country. We want to encourage filmmakers [in Australia] to come and make films in Indonesia,' Tara said as quoted by kompas.com.
The star of Joko Anwar's A Copy of My Mind will also introduce the Indonesian film industry to Australian audiences.
'I'm very excited to have been appointed as the ambassador, as it gives me the chance to promote Indonesia. I want to show people that apart from the archipelago's natural beauty, our films are also on the rise and we have a lot of creative filmmakers,' she said.
The festival will be held from April 14 to 23, and the 25-year-old Tara will stay five days.
