nterim WBO Asia-Pacific Lightweight Champion Daud 'Cino' Yordan of Indonesia is set to fight against boxer Yoshitaka Kato of Japan on Friday at Balai Sarbini Hall in Jakarta.
'I do not intend to knock out my opponent. But if I can, I will finish the fight as soon as possible,' Daud, 28, told a press conference, adding that he would not underestimate his opponent despite him looking 'not very physically imposing'.
Coached by Craig Christian, former coach of Indonesian boxing legend Chris John, Daud attended some training sessions in Bali and his home province West Kalimantan ahead of Friday's showdown.
'Craig shapes me physically and mentally. I will continue with light training until the match day,' said Daud.
The orthodox Daud has won 33 out of 36 bouts. Meanwhile, Kato, 31, has won 29 out of 36. The match will be the first meeting of the pair.
