Talking to Triawan Munaf, the chief of the Creative Economy Agency and the subject of this week's cover story (p6-9), was a rare treat.
We were rapt listening to him talk at the Alila Jakarta, about his life as a teen rock star in the 1970s and 1980s, about working with Benny Soebardja on the seminal band Giant Step and about the challenge he's taken up at the President's request.
We even spoke about the used-cassette market in Taman Puring Market in South Jakarta, where tapes of Giant Step, if you can find them, sell for six-figure sums.
