Artist Otty Widasari admits she is not a digital freak, but she can be technology savvy when it comes to her job.

A writer, filmmaker, painter, researcher, a woman of many talents, Otty prefers to call herself an artist whatever medium she is using.

The 42-year-old female artist has gone all-out for her two recent art exhibitions, “Ones Who Looked at The Presence” (2015) and “Ones Who Are Being Controlled” (2016), exposing all her talents and craftsmanship in different areas of art from painting to videomaking.

Otty’s first encounter with high-end technology happened when she won a fancy Nokia mobile phone, the N90, in early 2000. “I was lucky. I won a lucky prize in an event in Germany,” she said.

With that phone, she was at the time considered one step ahead of her peers, as not many people owned the phone, which was equipped with a very good quality built-in camera.

Despite such experience, the mother of one admits she still does not know much about technology and social media.

Otty’s presence in social media is only limited to Facebook and occasionally Instagram for promotional purposes.

But when it relates to her profession, Otty can be an expert.

As a filmmaker, Otty has mastered the art of editing. She uses Final Cut Pro software, a popular program for editors.

Like many true gadget maniacs, Otty has been an Apple user for years, citing good quality as her reason behind her loyalty to the brand.

The laptop is also an upgrade from the previous one. I usually use the laptop for editing jobs. I use Final Cut Pro software for editing.

iPhone 6+

I just upgraded my iPhone in January. I always like iPhone because it has the good camera that I really need in my job. I know that it is pretty expensive, but some of my projects are taken by iPhone. The camera is so good that I don’t need much editing for the final edition. I consider the gadget as an investment for my work. I also use iPhone because it is compatible with the laptop that I am using.

Phone games

I am a game addict, but I only play them on my phone. My current addiction is 8pool, a billiard game on smartphones. I can’t stop playing it. Before that, I was obsessed with Plant Vs Zombie. I don’t play any game console because I know I won’t stop playing. That is why my husband does not allow me to buy a game console.
