peration Tinombala task force members discovered the body of an unidentified male on Tuesday, buried near the Uwe Mayea Mountains in Patangolembah village, Poso, Central Sulawesi.
Task force spokesman Adj. Sr. Comr. Hari Suprapto said the body was found near the location where recent crossfire occurred between task force members and loyalists of the East Indonesia Mujahidin (MIT) terrorist group.
During the crossfire on May 15, security personnel shot and killed two members of the terrorist group.
The deceased male was sent to the Bhayangkara Police Hospital in Palu, Central Sulawesi, for autopsy. The man is described as having been 171 centimeters in height, with long straight hair and a goatee. He had been wearing black training trousers, black socks and boots and had a sickle attached to his hip.
“We have listed the man’s traits and circulated the information among local residents. But nobody has reported a missing family member,” he added.
