he provincial education office in Jambi has announced that all schools in the province will close during the Islamic fasting month of Ramadhan, starting on June 6.
“During the Islamic month of Ramadhan, students are encouraged to seek moral and spiritual improvement,” the education office head Rahmat Derita said on Sunday.
He said he hoped parents and the community would both play a role in facilitating religious activities for school students during the school break.
“The holiday is not intended as a pause in the learning process. Students can learn [spirituality and morals] at home with their parents and or from their surroundings,” he added.
