he government is preparing a website that will document details of families nationwide in an effort to improve its population control and family planning programs.
Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN) head Surya Chandra Surapaty said on Wednesday the database, called the Family Information System, would be launched this year and was expected to provide a solution for the lack of accurate population data.
“We cannot optimize population control and family planning efforts if we do not have comprehensive data on families,” Surya told reporters.
BKKBN officials in regions have been collecting the data since 2015. The database will contain details including which families are participating in the Family Planning Program (KB), the names of members of every family and socio-cultural details such as educational background and marital status.
