AKARTA: Actress Marshanda has never been one to shy away from controversy.

The 26-year-old, who recently became an active vlogger and has a channel on YouTube with six videos, recently uploaded a video that drew criticism from the public.

The video, uploaded on Wednesday, featured the actress and her partner, Egi John, lip-syncing to a song while driving.

Egi, who is driving, clearly removes his hands from the steering wheel at several points and looks away from the road while dancing. At one point, the two actors also throw paper money around inside the car.

While the video drew criticism from the netizenry when it was uploaded, the former Bidadari (Angel) star revealed that it was an effort by her and Egi — whose brother Reginald passed away in a car accident in early April — to educate people about driving safely.

On Instagram, fans and detractors pointed out the many mistakes made by the pair in the video. The actress selected the most scathing and caring comments of her video and awarded the winners with two tickets to her new movie, 3 Pilihan Hidup (Three life choices). — JP
