Jakarta Harley-Davidson dealership lisence up for grabs, HOG members apply

embers of the Jakarta Chapter Harley Owners Group (HOG) have launched a bid to take over the Harley-Davidson dealership license, the dealership license granted to Mabua Harley-Davidson expired on June 30.
HOG Jakarta Chapter President Director Sahat Manalu and assistant director Suherli applied for the license under the business name Elang Motorindo. According to Sahat and Suherli, Elang Motorindo had already passed the Harley Davidson Asia Pacific fit and proper test.
“The license bidding process is still underway but, if all goes well, we will be ready to soft launch the dealer point in Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta, in September,” Sahat told thejakartapost.com on Wednesday.

Nusantara group, known for Ford and Mazda car dealership has also passed the fit and proper test, said Suherli.
Based on rules set out by Harley-Davidson, one dealer is entitled to establish one HOG chapter. While the HOG Jakarta chapter will remain attached to Elang Motorindo in Kelapa Gading, it remains unclear where Nusantara Group plan to locate their dealership should their bid succeed. (bbn)
