Turkish president accuses EU of breaking pact on migrants

Turkey's president has accused the European Union of failing to uphold its side of a deal to stop migrants from entering Europe.
Recep Tayyip Erdogan says the EU has transferred only up to 2 million of the 3 billion euros (US$3.3 billion) promised to Ankara as part of the agreement.
In an interview with German broadcaster ARD aired late Monday, Erdogan urged the EU to lift visa requirements for Turkish citizens.
He also justified the possible reintroduction of the death penalty in Turkey in response to a recent failed coup.
Erdogan told ARD that Turkish voters want the death penalty brought back, stating that "if we are in a democratic state of law, then the people decide."
