otani Square shopping mall in Bogor, West Java, has received an award in the category of Indonesia’s best Muslim tourist-friendly shopping malls this year from the Culture and Tourism Ministry.
Located on Jl.Raya Pajajaran, Bogor, Botani Square is recognized for providing prayer facilities and restaurants only serving halal foods.
Botani Square general manager Rosalia HS said it was committed to prioritizing hospitality in its services as it was key to attracting tourists. All employees and tenants must be polite and friendly toward visitors, she went on.
“Since it was established 10 years ago, we strive to provide comfortable facilities for our visitors, especially Muslim tourists, by providing prayer rooms inside the mall. We also built a mosque in the Botani Square complex because we are aware that we operate in a majority Muslim population,” Rosalia told The Jakarta Post of the award presented on Oct.7.
On weekdays, Botani Square welcomes around 28,000 visitors every day while on weekends (Saturday-Sunday), it has about 40,000 visitors. The number of visitors may even grow up to 50,000 during the Ramadhan fasting month.
Bogor Culture and Tourism Agency head Sahlan Rasyidi said it was expected that with the award, Botani Square could further improve its services and facilities.
“I hope Botani Square also can maintain its advancement in providing halal foods for its visitors ahead of the selection process for the World Halal Tourism competition in December,” he said. (ebf)
