Police suspect home-made bomb the cause of explosion in Yogyakarta

he Yogyakarta Police are investigating an explosion that erupted near a rice field in Bantul, Yogyakarta, on Tuesday. The police suspect the explosion was from a home-made bomb.
The head of the Yogyakarta Police detectives and general crimes division, Sr. Corm. Frans Tjahyono, said the police were questioning a number of eye-witnesses.
“We still don’t know why the bomb was placed there. We want to know who assembled and placed it there,” he said, adding that the police had not identified the strength of the bomb. The bomb exploded after it was stepped on by a water buffalo.
Various materials such as nails and other metals wounded the buffalo.
“The bomb squad is still investigating the incident. But we suspect that it was home assembled-bomb,” said Frans in Yogyakarta as reported by kompas.com. (bbn)
