he Surabaya branch of the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) has so far found the bodies of three crew-members from the Mulya Sejati.
The Mulya Sejati collided with another boat, the Vietnamese-flagged MV Thaison 4, in the Java Sea on Saturday.
Surabaya Basarnas head Muhammad Arifin said one body was found trapped in the wreckage of the boat after the team rocked the capsized boat.
On Monday the agency widened the search to a radius of 20 miles from the accident site.
On Sunday the agency focused the search around the wreckage.
“The wreckage site has many pointy sides to it and this makes the search difficult for us,” Arifin said Sunday.
Another team searched the area from the air using a helicopter, aided by rubber boats belonging to the Tuban Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) and a boat from the Indonesian Navy.
The MV Thaison 4, a cargo ship, and the Mulya Sejati, which was carrying 27 people, collided before dawn on Saturday, said the head of the Tuban BPBD, Joko Loediyono.
All 15 victims were from the Mulya Sejati. (evi)
