Six villages of Muaro Tabir district, Tebo, suffered from floods that covered roads with water, acting regent of Tebo Agus Sunaryo said on Monday. At least 1,531 families were affected by the floods and 280 hectares of paddy fields were submerged in the floodwaters.
“Vehicles cannot pass several villages as the roads were inundated, like the road from Ulaka Kemang to Tambung Arang,” he said.
The heavy downpours caused Batang Tabir River to overflow, inundating the areas nearby.
