n the first Division 2, 35 over game played this Sunday, Fez Rebels CC comfortably beat an under-strength Yadavas Chairos Tigers team by nine wickets with 16 overs to spare. Electing to bat first, the Tigers were in early trouble losing their first two wickets without many runs on the board.

The in-form Aditya Gustama (30) then put on a 64 run stand with top-scorer Repan Desnika (39). After two quick wickets, the other in-form player Agi Saptaizi (36no) got into the act to string a few smaller partnerships to take the nine-man Tigers team to a respectable 145 all out.

Marten Eddy (2/22) was the best bowler for the Rebels. Warwick Peters (76no) was in fabulous nick and in partnerships with Corbon Loughnan (23) and Marten Eddy (29no) ensured Fez Rebels won easily with nine wickets to spare.

Challengers CC continued their winning run with a comprehensive and big win over Ceylon CC in the other 35 overs, Division 2 game played at Purwakarta. Jaganathan Krishnan (2/20) accounted for the two star Ceylon batsmen Gaurav and Dihan cheaply to put them in trouble. Mufasil PM (31) tried to keep one end up while Ceylon CC kept losing batsmen at the other end and were in trouble at 70/7, with the damage being done by Santhosh Kumar (3/19) and Manicavasgan (2/24).

Faheem Muhammad (26) and Sajith (17) put up some resistance to take Ceylon CC to a below par 135 all out, after Vimal Nair (2/9) cleaned up the tail.

The tactical move to promote Ranjan Shankar (71no) as an opener worked wonders for Challengers CC as he blazed away with support from Sidhu (26) and Satinder Minhas (20) to take Challengers CC across the line in just 19.3 overs.

The much anticipated T20 clash between the strong sides of PHM Jaguar CC and Yadavas Senayan CC ended up a low-scoring one-sided game with the Jaguars winning easily.

After being put in to bat, Senayan CC just could not get going against the Jaguar CC spinners. Aman Singh (2/19), Abdul Ghaffar (2/28) and Amit Lala (2/24) spun a web around the strong Senayan batting to bowl them out for just 104 with two overs to spare. Prem Subramanian (38) put up the sole resistance. In reply, despite Raj Kapadia’s (2/27) early blows, Riaz Hyder (32) and Irshad Birajdar (51) consolidated in a 76 run partnership to take PHM Jaguar CC home comfortably with six wickets and five overs to spare.

Jakarta Barbarians were faced with a familiar batting situation after they opted to bat first versus Metro Indians CC, when their two consistent batsmen, Ben Burgess (32) and Jon Baker (32), didn’t get much support from the other batters and were bowled out for 113. Sabu Joy (313) and Kirubasankar (2/17) were the pick of the Metro Indian bowlers.

Kirubasankar (29) ensured a good start for Metro Indians in reply, but a fight-back led by Eki Antaria (3/25) created a mid-order wobble. Sakthi Narayanan (27) kept his nerves to shepherd his team to a win with two overs and four wickets to spare.
