O

fficials from the Thousand Islands Infrastructure and Public Facility Maintenance (PPSU) Agency have cut down dozens of trees in an integrated park in Kelapa Island subdistrict on Tuesday to prevent problems caused by trees being blown down in strong winds

“Yesterday’s strong winds blew down three trees,” Kelapa Island sub district head Cecep Suryadi said on Tuesday as quoted by beritajakarta.com.

The strong winds also damaged the roofs of several homes in the area.

The Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) previously said the recent high intensity rain triggered winds strong enough to take off rooftops or bring down trees.
