T

axation Director General Ken Dwijugiasteadi has called on tax payers to utilize the third round of the tax amnesty or they will face tough law enforcement. The program expires on March 31.

He also expressed his optimism that the third round of the tax amnesty that started on Jan. 1 is still attracting participants although the percentage of tariffs is higher than the figures in the second round.

“Tariffs of the first round were low, the second round medium and the third round has the highest tariffs but is the last chance. Remember, the program will not come back,” said Ken as reported by kompas.com on Wednesday.

During the third round, tariffs for local declarations of wealth have been set at 5 percent, while tariffs for international declarations have been set at 10 percent.

Meanwhile, tariffs for micro, small and medium enterprises are still the same – 0.5 percent for those whose wealth is below Rp 10 billion, and 2 percent for those whose wealth is above Rp 10 billion.

Ken told people to use the final round of the tax amnesty because tax pardons are rare. He stressed that after the program expires on March 31, the government would enforce firmer tax laws. (bbn)
