he supporters of Jakarta gubernatorial candidate Anies Baswedan and Sandiaga Uno plan to hold a viewing gathering, locally known as nonton bareng or nobar, for the first official gubernatorial debate at Kampung Akuarium, where residents were evicted last year, in North Jakarta, on Friday.
"We will hold the nobar at Kampung Akuarium because we can see the leader's arbitrariness there. The volunteers want to morally support Anies and Sandiaga there, so our fight in changing Jakarta can be accomplished,"
Naufal Firman Yursak, the media coordinator of Anies and Sandiaga's campaign team told The Jakarta Post on Friday.
Residents of Kampung Akuarium were evicted in April last year, but some of the evictees, who refused to be relocated to low-cost apartments, remained in the area by pitching tents on the rubble.
Naufal said further that viewing gatherings would also be conducted in dozens of spots in the city, including at Anies' campaign headquarters on Jl. Cicurug, Menteng, Central Jakarta.

KPU Jakarta will raise social and economy issues in the debate. (dmr)
