he Jakarta Police have apprehended 32-year-old Reza Sanjaya, who is alleged to have killed a 28-year-old sex worker, identified only as MA, whose body was found in Menteng Pulo cemetery in Setiabudi, South Jakarta, in November.
Police arrested Reza on Sunday, after a two-month manhunt, in Pasurian, East Java, aboard an inter-provincial bus from Java to Sumatra, South Jakarta Police spokesman Comr. Purwanta said on Monday.
Police suspect that Reza killed MA in order to steal her motorcycle.
“The suspect admitted that he used the motorcycle to go to his hometown in Tanggamus, Lampung,” Purwanta said, as quoted by tribunnews.com.
Reza, was reportedly a regular customer of MA and monitored her routine activities before allegedly killing her with a machete at the cemetery.
“He will be charged under Article 340 of the Criminal Code on premeditated murder, with a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison,” he said.
