he Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry has signed off on contracts for 134 procurement of goods and services packages for the first phase of the 2017 state budget.
The packages are worth a total Rp 284 billion (US$21.3 million).
Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Ignasius Jonan acknowledged that the contracts signed only made up around 10 percent of the 2017 target.
However, he was optimistic that the contracts signed could reach up to 30 to 40 percent by the end of next month.

"The government hopes that by signing these as early as possible, the quality of the goods and services can be of a higher quality than if these contracts are signed in June or July, where there are only six months left in the year and the process may become messy," he said during his speech at the signing ceremony at Balai Kartini in South Jakarta on Thursday.
