Greater Jakarta: 688 foreign workers recorded in Cakung

C

akung district in East Jakarta recorded as many as 688 new foreign workers last year, an official said.

Cakung district’s one-stop integrated service (PTSP) head of execution unit, Mohamad Rizky Wirawan, said on Tuesday that the record was based on their report about the existence of foreign workers at the PTSP.

“Almost every day, we serve foreigners who report [to the PTSP]. The process will take one day if the required documents are complete. If they make reports in the morning, the process will be complete by the afternoon,” he said as quoted by East Jakarta mayoralty official website timur.jakarta.go.id.

He added that the foreigners should bring the Expatriate Placement Plan (RPTKA), work permit (IMTA) and temporary or permanent stay permits (Kitas or Kitap) with them while making the reports.

Cakung is home to many national and international companies. PT Jakarta Industrial Estate Pulogadung is also located in the district.

“The area is home to almost 400 companies,” Rizky added.
