ayu Krisnamurthi has decided to resign from his position as president director of the Indonesian Oil Palm Estate Fund (BPDP-KS) for personal reasons following a coordination meeting with Coordinating Economic Minister Darmin Nasution on Wednesday night.

“It’s true. I have resigned due to personal reasons,” Bayu told The Jakarta Post on Thursday. “The Office of the Coordinating Economic Minister will organize a selection committee to appoint my successor.”

Local media outlets have reported that the government has been working on the selection process for several months and there are at least five candidates for the position.

“I hope that whoever gets appointed can continue our good work and even improve it further,” Bayu said.

Bayu was appointed as BPDP-KS president director in 2015. Before that, he served as deputy trade minister and deputy agriculture minister during former president Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono’s second term from 2009 to 2014. (BBN)
