shareholders meeting of PT Pertamina Gas (Pertagas), a subsidiary of state-owned energy company PT Pertamina, appointed Toto Nugroho as the new president director on Wednesday.

Pertamina’s gas director Yenni Andayani, who is also chief commissioner of Pertagas, expressed optimism that Toto, who was a career employee in Pertamina, would be able to improve the performance of Pertagas.

“[We hope for better performance] both in business development and in profit achievement,” said Yenni as reported by tribunnews.com on Thursday.

Toto started his career in Pertamina’s processing directorate in 1992.  Before joining Pertagas, he was a technical expert and strategic advisor in Pertamina’s headquarters.

Yenni stressed the need for all elements in Pertagas to team up to achieve the company's targets in 2017. “I believe that Pak Toto will be able to help Pertagas become one of the Pertamina subsidiaries that will continuously develop,” she added.

When greeting Pertagas’ employees after his appointment, Toto stressed the need for all Pertagas officials to focus on the government’s policy to continuously cut gas prices, but without ignoring the task to achieve maximum profits.

He also reminded all elements in the company about the task Pertamina was given by the State-Owned Enterprises Ministry to establish Oil and Gas Holding. “I call for you all to give full support for the establishment of the holding company,” he added. (bbn)
