Gubernatorial candidate Anies Baswedan and his running mate Sandiaga Uno defeated incumbent Jakarta Governor Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama and his running mate Jakarta Deputy Governor Djarot Saiful Hidayat and the Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono-Sylviana Murni ticket after a re-count at polling station 1 in Utan Panjang, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, on Sunday.
Anies secured 134 votes, while Ahok and Agus trailed in second and third place with 104 votes and 15 votes, respectively.
Previously, in the Feb. 15 election, Ahok was thought to have secured 198 votes, while Anies and Agus received 177 votes and 62 votes, respectively.
The Sunday re-count was organized after the Jakarta Elections Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) uncovered irregularities at the polling station.
Only 257 voters cast their votes on Sunday out of 601 registered voters.
