T

he Transportation Ministry will issue a notice to airmen (NOTAM) for all stakeholders at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali and Halim Perdanakusuma Airport in Jakarta to facilitate of the upcoming arrival of Saudi Arabia King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

The leader is slated to arrive on March 2.

"We will welcome and serve the state guests, His Highness King Salman Abdulaziz Al Saud from Saudi Arabia according to the flight standard and procedure for VVIP guest," Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi said in an official statement on Thursday.

According to the Federal Aviation Administration, a notice to airmen is a notice containing information concerning the establishment, condition, or change in any component the timely knowledge of which is essential to personnel concerned with flight operations.

For the arrival, the government has established a coordination post at the Ngurah Rai airport, led by the Indonesian Air Force, with members comprising state airport operator Angkasa Pura (AP) I and state air navigation firm AirNav, the airports’ authorities and the National Police.

There will also be a parking arrangement for the aircrafts that will land on March 2, which include four Boeing 747 series 400 and 200, two Boeing B777 and two Hercules C-130.

The ministry says regular flights will continue as usual despite the king’s highly anticipated visit. (tas)
