rivate lender BCA and carrier Singapore Airlines (SIA) launched their annual joint travel fair on Friday, which offered discounted airfares mainly to overseas destinations to encourage Indonesians to travel abroad.
The fair, which runs from Feb. 24 to 26 at the high-end Gandaria City shopping mall in South Jakarta, sells solely Singapore Airlines flights and tries to benefit from a rising interest from Indonesians wanting to explore foreign countries, including uncommon destinations, according to SIA public relations spokesperson Glory Henriette.
“For Indonesians, popular destinations are mostly countries in Asia, such as Japan, South Korea or Hong Kong. As Indonesia is one of our most loyal markets, it will be advantageous for both of us and the travelling public," she said during a media gathering on Friday.
Trips to Singapore are advertised to go as low as Rp 800,000 (US$60) nett, while flights to Tokyo and London are tagged at Rp 3.5 million and Rp 7.5 million respectively.
The carrier's newer routes, particularly to Dusseldorf, Germany, and to Stockholm are on sale with fares as low as Rp 7 million.
As part of its collaboration with Indonesia’s biggest private lender, the fair also offers promotional fares for BCA card holders valid for the travel period between March 1 and Jan. 31, 2018.
