13-year-old street musician was found dead under Tanjung Barat overpass in South Jakarta on Saturday evening, reportedly after he became involved in a fight with an as yet unidentified person.

The incident took place when the victim, Tengku Muhammad Murdiansyah, alias Poyan, and his friend, Jimy, 20, were singing near traffic lights under the overpass. At about 8:30 p.m. Jimy left Poyan to take a shower at Bringin Poltangan park. When Jimy returned, he found Poyan’s body on the ground next to his broken violin.

“The victim had a 10-centimeter stab wound to the neck, one stab wound on the left of his abdomen and another stab wound in the right upper abdomen,” said South Jakarta Police spokesman Comr. Purwanta, as quoted by wartakota.tribunnews.com on Sunday.

Witnesses report the victim and his suspected killer became involved in a fight under the overpass. After being stabbed, Poyan attempted to run to a nearby police station but collapsed on the way. The suspect fled the crime scene. Poyan’s body was later taken to Kramatjati Hospital for further examination.
