Previously, a source said President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo had appointed Elia the Pertamina president director to replace acting Pertamina president director Yenny Andayani, who was appointed to fill the vacant position after the dismissal of Dwi Sutjipto recently.

Dwi and his deputy, Ahmad Bambang, lost their positions after a rift that Pertamina commissioners felt had affected the company's performance.
Tempo.co reported that sources at the State Palace and State-owned Enterprises Ministry confirmed Elia's appointment, saying that Elia, as an outsider of the company, was the right person for the position. (bbn)
