The Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) will close for the second round of the Jakarta gubernatorial election on Wednesday.
The decision was made in reference to Presidential Decree number 10/2017, which stipulates that election day is a holiday for the special capital region of Jakarta.
“[We] announce that April 19, 2017 is a bourse holiday,” read an official letter signed by IDX corporate listing director Samsul Hidayat and director for trading and membership Alpino Kianjaya on Tuesday.
IDX president director Tito Sulistio has previously said that the bourse would follow the Financial Services Authority’s (OJK) decision to close on the day as the bourse’s activities are supervised by the financial regulator. (bbn)
