he recovery progress of the left eye of Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) senior investigator Novel Baswedan has been very slow, KPK spokesman Febri Diansyah said Sunday.
Novel, who was the lead investigator in a high-profile e-ID case, was attacked by two unidentified assailants on April 11 who splashed Novel's face with sulfuric acid as he was walking home after performing a prayer at a mosque in Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta.
"There's a little progress in Novel's left eye but it needs weeks to recover," Febri said on Sunday, as quoted by kompas.com.
The right eye of Novel, who has been receiving medical treatment in Singapore, was showing significant improvement, he added.

Based on the doctor's explanation, Febri said that the conjunctiva, or the part of the eye that is white, in Novel's right eye recovered 10 to 20 percent, while the left eye only showed progress of 5 to 10 percent. (rdi)
