hree janitors at Seasons City mall, West Jakarta, have been accused of kicking and beating a 4-year-old boy for making the floor dirty.

Tambora Police detective chief Adj. Comr. Antonius said the teenager janitors, identified as Yudiansyah, 19, Yadi Aryadi, 18, and Ayu Atapiah, 15, allegedly attacked the boy, Iqbal, because they were upset that he often made the floor dirty.

"The victim always played in the area where the janitors worked. He often disturbed them and made the floor dirty after they had cleaned it," Antonius said as quoted by tribunnews.com on Tuesday.

The three janitors allegedly attacked Iqbal on Thursday, when Ayu took him to an emergency exit and Yudiansyah reportedly kicked him until he fell down the stairs.

Yadi then allegedly slammed Iqbal's head against the wall twice.

The three were arrested on Saturday evening.

The janitors have been detained at the Tambora Police station in West Jakarta and will be charged under the 2014 Child Protection Law. (cal)
