ommuter train company PT KAI Commuter Jabodetabek (KCJ) announced on Saturday that Klender Station in East Jakarta had reopened and resumed full operations, eight days after it was engulfed in fire.
KCJ spokesperson Eva Chairunnisa said temporary facilities had been set up at the station. The company would cooperate with state-owned railway firm PT KAI Indonesia and the Transportation Ministry to rebuild the station, she added.
“As of 12 noon on Saturday, Klender Station resumed its full operations. Passengers who want to take the Bekasi-Manggarai-Jakarta Kota and Bekasi-Kampung Bandan-Jakarta Kota routes can embark and disembark at the station again,” Eva said in a written statement.
She said the temporary facilities included a waiting room, a ticket booth equipped with two point of sales (POS) devices and an administration room.
PT KCJ also provided two portable toilets for passengers. Six electronic gates have been installed so passengers can use their e-tickets, just like in other stations, she added. (dea/ebf)
