he Jakarta Police revealed on Wednesday that the armed group behind the fatal robbery and shooting of bank customer Davidson Tantono, 30, at a Daan Mogot filling station in West Jakarta, on June 9, was well managed with clear work distribution among the members.
Jakarta Police chief Insp. Gen. Iriawan said the gang, which consisted of dozens of people, was divided into at least five teams.
The first team was called the "beret team," which was in charge of killing the victim in case he or she resisted or refused to hand over the cash, he said.
“SFL took on this role, he was the one who shot the victim. SFL was the executor and the captain of this crime,” Iriawan said on Wednesday. SFL has since been shot dead by the police in Banyuwangi, East Java.
The second group was called the "pilot team," which was in charge of transporting SFL to do his job.
The third group, called the "describing team", was in charge of describing potential victims and conveying the information to the fourth team.
That team, called the “piercing team,” was in charge of flattening the tires of the target’s vehicle using a thumbtack.
The fifth team, called the “blocking team,” was in charge of preventing the police or members of the public from chasing the perpetrators.
The team was reportedly assisted by a woman with the initials RCL who rented an apartment room for the gang to prepare for their crime.
The police are still looking for four other perpetrators.
Police have arrested seven suspects, identified only as DTK, TP, M, RCL, NZR, IR and SFL. The last two were shot dead during the arrest operation.
