s the forgiveness spirit of Idul Fitri is in the air, State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) Minister Rini Soemarno wishes for more harmonious relations with the House of Representatives.
"Hopefully, we can forgive each other's [wrongdoing], because SOEs are [the House's working] partners," Rini said while holding an Idul Fitri gathering at her residence in Jakarta, as reported by kontan.co.id.
Although she could not attend any meetings or hearings with the parliament, her ministry maintained good communication with lawmakers, she stated.
"I follow [the discussions], and thank God [the communication] is going smoothly," Rini added.
The minister has been banned by the House from any House meetings following a corruption case implicating state-owned port operator PT Pelindo II and executives of four other SOEs.
A special committee formed by the lawmakers to investigate the case recommended to President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo in 2015 to dismiss Rini from her position, among other things. (prm/bbn)
