fficers from the Tabir Police and Merangin Police’s Crime Investigation Division apprehended on Friday, three people who had reportedly stolen hundreds of millions of rupiah in Merangin regency, Jambi.
Identified as Arfandi, 23, Moris, 37, and Sulaiman, the three have been accused of committing armed robberies at four locations, two of which were in Rantau Panjang, Tabir district, and the remaining two in Koto Baru and Mensango, located in Tabir district and Tabir Lintas district, respectively.
“In committing these crimes, they did not hesitate to hurt their victims. One of the three perpetrators even used a home-made Revolver to scare the victims,” Merangin Police deputy chief Comr. Ricky Hadianto said on Saturday.
During his interrogation, Sulaiman said that money they had stolen was shared evenly among the three and used to buy food and shop for basic commodities for their families.
“We will charge them under Articles 363 and 365 of the Criminal Code on breaking and entering [curat] and robbery using violence [curas], which carry a sanction of more than seven years in prison,” Ricky said.
