ired of being on the run two months after fleeing from his cell, Herman Susilo, an inmate of the Class II B Sialang Bungkuk penitentiary in Pekanbaru, Riau, asked his family to call police officers to pick him up and return him to the prison.
Herman, who was imprisoned for drug offenses, said he felt it was enough for him to move from one place to another after he fled from the Sialang Bungkuk prison on May 5.
“I regret escaping from the penitentiary. My life has been uneasy because the scope of my moves was limited,” he said as quoted by kompas.com on Tuesday.
Pekanbaru Police spokesperson Second Insp. Dodi Vivin said the police’s officers picked up Herman at his friend’s house in Pekanbaru on Monday.
“During his escape, he moved around in Kubang Raya before he borrowed money from his friend to escape to Pasir Pengeraian in Rohul district,” said Dodi.
He added that Herman felt uneasy when he had to move from one friend’s house to another; therefore, he decided to return to Pekanbaru and phoned his family.
A team of anti-narcotic personnel from the Lima Puluh Police apprehended Herman for possessing one kilogram of marijuana in May. (ecn/ebf)
