olice have captured a 31-year-old alleged rapist, identified only as JS, in his hometown of Grobogan in Central Java after being on the run for two months, the head of the South Tangerang Police's criminal investigation unit, Adj. Sr. Comr. Alexander Yurikho, said on Friday.

The jobless man has been accused of molesting his two stepdaughters, aged 7 and 10, at their house in South Tangerang, Banten, when his wife was out working. His wife reported him to the police two months ago.

“The wife became suspicious when one of her daughters complained of pain,” Alexander said as quoted by tempo.co. According to the victims’ report, JS allegedly forbade the two young girls to say anything to their mother.

JS and his wife quarreled before she reported the alleged assault to the South Tangerang Police, Alexander added. If he is convicted, JS could spend up to 15 years in prison, as stipulated in Child Protection Law. (vny)
