he Jakarta administration will not disburse transportation allowances for City Council members, as stipulated in draft bylaw on their allowance increase, while they still use official cars provided by the administration, Governor Djarot Saiful Hidayat has said.
“If the council members want to get their transportation allowance, as stipulated in the government regulation, then they must return their official cars,” Djarot told reporters at City Hall in Gambir, Central Jakarta.
Wednesday’s plenary meeting deliberated the draft bylaw on the embodiment of 2017 Government Regulation No. 18, which underlies the draft bylaw.

Article 9 of the regulation on the financial and administrative authority of regional council leaders and members states that every council leader will be provided with an official car, while councilors will receive a transportation allowance that will be disbursed every month.
