ransjabodetabek commuter buses will run under police escorts to ensure a one-hour travel time from Bekasi, West Java, to Jakarta, an official has stated.
State-run bus company Perum PPD began this operation in Bekasi on Thursday with free-of-charge morning services, company spokesperson Arga Narendra said.
The buses connect the Summarecon Bekasi complex to the Hotel Indonesia traffic circle in Central Jakarta.
Arga said that currently it took two hours to drive from the Summarecon Bekasi complex to the Hotel Indonesia traffic circle.
“But with a police escort, the travel time can be reduced by up to 70 percent.
“In the first trial, the travel time was reduced by 50 percent. Our target is 70 percent,” he said as quoted by tempo.co. (wnd)
