video showing a man in military uniform attacking a police officer in Pekanbaru, Riau, has gone viral on social media.
In the video, the soldier is seen shouting as he gets off his motorbike before slapping the policeman, who is wearing a helmet, on the head. The incident appeared to have occured on Jl. Sudirman in Pekanbaru.
The contretemps started when the soldier, identified as Sergeant Wira Sinaga, became angry at Second Brig. Yoga Vernando who cautioned him for not wearing a helmet while riding a motorbike, which also had no rearview mirrors.
Following the incident, the head of the intelligence team of the Pekanbaru military command Capt. Latif met with Yoga to apologize, said Pekanbaru Police chief Sr. Comr. Susanto.
“He came to apologize for the incident,” he said as quoted by kompas.com.
