Man charged with raping boys

he police have arrested a man, identified as Gondes, 27, at his home in Kapuk Cengkareng, West Jakarta, for allegedly raping several children.
Cengkareng Police head Comr. Agung Leksono said all the victims were boys and that the cases had come to light after parents became concerned about changes in their children’s behavior.
It was discovered that Gondes often dropped the children to their schools and played together with them.
“He would offer to play with the children and promised them food and would drop them off at school and if the neighborhood was quiet he would take the opportunity to rape them,” Agung said Tuesday.
So far, the police have questioned five victims, who are said to have been raped at the perpetrator’s home. “From early investigations, he has done it more than once. He lured the victims with money, between Rp 10,000 [75 US cents] and Rp 20,000,” Agung said as quoted by tribunnews.com.
Gondes has been charged under the 2014 Child Protection Law, with a maximum sentence of 15 years’ imprisonment. (wnd)
